social media coke

Very powerful and uncomfortable illustrations on social media…

Let’s face it, Social Media is a drug…it has rapidly become one the most used digital drug in the world. According to a new Pew Research Center report, %70 of Facebook users interact with the website every day and %45 percent do so multiple times per day.

Here is what one person had to say about his addiction on Facebook.
“I’m addicted to the internet. I first turned to it when I was staying at home with the kids, isolated and many times lonely with no one to talk to about my day looking for reassurance that everything was normal. I was searching for absolution that I wasn’t crazy for feeling despair. How could something like social media that made me feel good, leave me feeling more empty?”

You cannot go any where without seeing someone clued to their devices with their head down like zombies. Some use it as an escape from reality but it’s also causing us to lose touch with reality…seconds online turns into minutes, minutes turns into hours.

We are guilty of it everyday. Constantly checking Instagram, Twitter, Facebook craving for validation of how many people like our post.

I refuse to let humanity become a robot to the internet. I want to turn our addiction into education. This is what you can expect to get here on this website. Let’s trigger our emotions for positive valuable information instead of wasting our time for the next notification.
